Breitling and Bentley Team up to Create Sport Chronograph
The eagerly awaited 2018 Bentley Continental GT made its debut at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show – but if you can’t wait for it to arrive at dealerships, there is a smaller, but equally lavish alternative to keep you tiding over.
British car maker Bentley has teamed up with historical compatriot watch brand Breitling to produce a limited production sport chronograph to celebrate the launch of the new Continental GT.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the Breitling for Bentley GT Dark Sapphire Edition is a special variant of the existing Breitling for Bentley B06 chronograph with the traditional steel or gold on the case swapped for Breitling’s proprietary Breitlight polymer.
The ultra-strong material has a subtle black, streaked effect with a blue shimmer that echoes Dark Sapphire from Bentley’s colour palette.
The watch’s dial features a diamond pattern that mirrors the new ‘diamond in diamond’ design that can be found on the new Bentley Continental GT. The rubber strap on this timepiece was specifically created for this model and bears the same diamond motif as the dial.
Inside the polymer case beats Breitling’s COSC-certified B06 chronograph movement that offers 70 hours of power reserve and 30-second chronograph function. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters and fitted with a screw-down crown.
Pricing for the Breitling for Bentley GT Dark Sapphire Edition has yet to be confirmed.
