Britannia Boxes by Linley Celebrate Queen’s Jubilee

By Paul Joseph

Illustrious British furniture makers Linley have created a set of limited edition jewellery and humidor boxes to mark the 2012 Queen’s Jubilee and London Olympics.

Limited to 60 jewellery and 60 humidor boxes, each piece is emblazoned with the Union Jack flag on the lid using marquetry inlay in vibrantly coloured and highly glossed Bolivar veneers.

Handmade in Britain, the intricately crafted boxes are constructed in walnut and feature Sterling silver commemorative engravable plaques above the escutcheon. The interior of the boxes can be customised to allow for personalised engravings.

The Jewellery Box – suitable for both men and women – also features a plaque on the inner lid bearing the Linley hallmark, as well as the year of the Diamond Jubilee. It is lined in red or cream suede and has a removable tray with compartments for cufflinks, rings, necklaces or watches and keepsakes.

The Humidor, meanwhile, is lined with cedar wood and contains a humidification system for ambient cigar storage. To the right of the humidification system is a circular rhodium plated engravable plaque.

Both the Limited Edition Jewellery Box and Humidor Box are available priced at £3,900 ($6,056).
