Bulgari’s Wild Pop Jewellery Collection Harks Back to the 1980s

By Paul Joseph

Iconic Italian fashion house Bulgari has stepped back in time to the cherished era of the 1980s for inspiration for its latest jewellery collection.

Called Wild Pop, the collection is billed as drawing on the empowerment, free spiritedness and experimentation of the electric Eighties.

Indeed it is colourful and over-the-top – much like the 80s itself – and is brimming with statement necklaces, gemstones, and bold designs.

For the collection, Bulgari drew particular inspiration from the fashion and art of the time, with a special reference to legendary artist Andy Warhol.

The collection contains a total of 80 pieces, including a wide range of motifs, from a cannabis leaf to geometric shapes and chain links, and features candy coloured gems and dazzling diamonds.

The Wild Pop collection debuted at a lavish event in Rome last month, where a line-up of star-studded guests dined at the Stadio dei Marmi. Famous 80s band Duran Duran took centre-stage, with an appearance from Pat and Anna Cleveland closing their performance.

Founded by Sotirios Voulgaris in 1884, Bulgari has grown to become one of the world’s most iconic fashion and jewellery brands.
