Burberry Creates First Ever Luxury Timepiece

By Paul Joseph

Iconic British fashion house Burberry has launched its first luxury timepiece – called “The Britain”.

Inspired by the classic Burberry trenchcoat, the watch features a range of distinctive elements, including the rounded octagonal shape of the face taken from the D-ring closure on the famous coats.

The watch, which was revealed at Burberry’s Spring-Summer 2013 pret-à-porter collection in London last month, was described by Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry, as “the embodiment of our rich, British heritage”.

A marketing campaign for the new timepiece was shot by world renowned photographer Mario Teastino in London and features a series of black and white portraits.

"The Britain" timepiece by Burberry is priced from £1,125 to £2,775.

Founded by Thomas Burberry in 1856, Burberry has grown to become one of the world’s most famous luxury fashion brands.
