Burberry to Launch New Watch Collections at BaselWorld

By Paul Joseph

British fashion house Burberry is to unveil its new watch collections at next month’s BaselWorld fair in Switzerland.

Marking Burberry’s debut at the prestigious watch fair, the brand will reveal new timepiece designs and fresh updates to its Britain watch collection within a two-storey exhibition space at the Messe Basel exhibition centre.

Burberry have created an "architecturally innovative space" for the 8-day event, incorporating digital screens which will stream Burberry timepiece video content throughout the duration of the show.

The stand will be surrounded by an illuminated façade comprising transparent panels emblazed with the famous Burberry print, designed under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, Burberry's chief creative officer.

In September last year, Burberry launched its first ever luxury timepiece, called “The Britain”. Inspired by the classic Burberry trenchcoat, the watch features a range of distinctive elements, including the rounded octagonal shape of the face taken from the D-ring closure on the famous coats.

Founded by Thomas Burberry in 1856, Burberry has grown to become one of the world’s most famous luxury fashion brands.

BaselWorld will run from April 25th to May 2nd.
