Cartier Create Diamond-Studded 'Wrist-Trembler'

By Paul Joseph

Iconic French jewellery house Cartier have created a stunning new limited edition watch for women fitted with diamonds that shimmer when the wrist of its owner moves.

The Ballon Bleu de Cartier Serti Vibrant timepiec produces the eye-catching effect thanks to a new mechanism that allows the diamonds to stay in place while they shudder.

Featuring 123 brilliant diamonds, totaling almost 3.46 carats, the watch comes in a rhodiumized 18-karat white gold case with blue steel sword shaped hands. The bracelet that runs around the wrist is also set with 985 diamonds totaling around 8.82 carats.

The watch’s crown is set with the distinctive sapphire cabochon that has become a hallmark of Cartier timepieces.

The Ballon Bleu de Cartier Serti Vibrant by Cartier is strictly limited to just 20 individually numbered pieces, each priced at $250,000.

Founded by Louis-François Cartier in Paris, France in 1847, Cartier has grown to become one of the world’s most illustrious luxury brands.
