Cartier Launch New Calibre Timepiece

By P. Joseph

French luxury jeweller Cartier have released a new timepiece complete with a gold and steel bracelet, costing £7,925 (€9,000).

The new Calibre de Cartier, which launched in April, follows the success last year of Cartier's first Calibre timepiece, which featured a leather strap.

Now available with a polished and satin-brushed stainless steel and 18 carat pink gold bracelet, the latest Cartier creation is equipped with a 1904 MC Manufacture Cartier movement, and features a striking silhouette, robust case and innovative design.

Polished steel hands, small seconds, and an elongated calendar window compliment a choice of silver or black dial with bold oversized 'XII' numerals placed at the top, whilst the self-winding mechanism has ceramic ball bearings, offering improved reliability.

Other notable features of the 42mm watch include a sapphire back revealing the intricacies of the new mechanism, and water resistance up to 30 metres.

Cartier was founded in Paris, France, in 1847, and has grown to become one of the world’s most prestigious jewellery and watch makers.
