Chanel Create New J12 Moonphase Timepiece

By Paul Joseph

French luxury brand Chanel has created a new addition to its highly popular J12 collection of timepieces.

First released a decade ago, the latest incarnation allows the wearer to track four main phases: full moon, first quarter moon, new moon and last quarter moon.

The 38mm watch features a high tech mechanical movement with the Dubois-Depraz Moonphase module, and appears in a small circular counter identifying each different phase.

Other notable components include a date function, with the date indicated on an outer ring via a crescent moon steel hand.

The watch will be available in black and white ceramic with options for the steel bezel set with 54 encrusted diamonds available in both colour versions.

The base model will retail for at least $9,400.
