Chanel Launches ‘Café Society’ Jewellery Collection

French luxury fashion house Chanel have created a new haute joaillerie collection inspired by the Jazz Age of the 1920s.

Previewed for the first time at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris earlier this week, the Café Society collection features a lavish array of diamond laden trinkets, including necklaces, drop earrings and bracelets.

A total of 87 pieces have been created for the collection with sets named “Broadway” (pure line of squares, rectangles, and diamond shapes in a stroke of onyx), “Charleston” (a rhythmic design alternating square medallions and fluid fringes of diamonds) and “Bubbles” (onyx squares sitting randomly on circular compositions of brilliant-cut diamonds), amongst others.

Among the highlights of the collection is "Morning in Vendôme”, a necklace with an emerald-cut 12-carat yellow diamond surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 31.6 carats and brilliant-cut yellow diamonds weighing 4.4 carats.

The Café Society collection will officially be presented at the Biennale des Antiquaires art fair in Paris in September.

Founded in Paris in 1909, Chanel has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned luxury brands.
