Chanel Launches First Pearls-Only Collection

By Paul Joseph

Iconic French jewellery house Chanel has launched its first ever Pearl-Only collection.

Boasting pearls discovered in a range of exotic locations including the South Seas, Tahiti and Japan, the 24-set collection is as striking as it is imaginative.

Comprising classic ivory to rare gold varieties, the trinkets feature symbols including camellias, lions, comets, constellations, feathers and knots co-mingling with pearls of an assortment of colours.

One of the stand-out pieces is the "Lion Baroque" triple-strand sautoir, featuring lines of white, black and gold pearls joined by a lion’s head pendant.

Other notable jewels include the "Envolée Solaire," a necklace of white and gold South Sea pearls connected to a single strand of white pearls by a mesh of golden flowers and white diamond-studded birds.

Founded in Paris in 1909, Chanel has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned luxury brands.
