Chanel’s Embroidered Diamond and Pearl Watch an Industry First

By Paul Joseph

Iconic French fashion house Chanel has created a stunning new women’s watch featuring embroidered diamonds and pearls – the first time such an arrangement has been used in watchmaking.

Designed in collaboration with French embroidery house La Maison Lesage, the watch is an embroidered version of Chanel’s Mademoiselle Prive Camelia timepiece.

Gold and silk thread embroidery, natural pearls and gold spangles are stitched together to form camellia motifs on a deep black silk fabric.

Other notable features include a quartz movement displaying the hours and minutes, a black satin strap, an 18-karat yellow gold buckle set with 80 brilliant-cut-diamonds, and water resistance up to 30 metres.

The new watch by Chanel is strictly limited to just 18 individually numbered pieces.

Founded in Paris in 1909, Chanel has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned luxury brands.
