Cipriani Comes to Downtown Miami

Famed luxury restaurant chain Cipriani has opened a new branch in downtown Miami – marking its 20th’s worldwide location.

Situated on Brickell Avenue, in the heart of the city’s major financial district, Cipriani Downtown Miami is the vision of Brothers Maggio and Ignazio Cipriani, sons of famed restaurateur Giuseppe Cipriani who founded the brand in 1958.

Designed by renowned Florentine architect Michele Bonan, whose previous work includes the Cipriani Yas Island-Abu Dhabi, Cipriani Monte Carlo and Downtown Ibiza, the new Miami restaurant features a chic blue and white nautical aesthetic inspired by its waterfront setting.

Speaking prior to the opening, Maggio Cipriani said: “We are proud to announce the opening of Cipriani Downtown Miami. We feel the city is an ideal location for reaching our international clientele, as well as our loyal customers in the US.

“Miami is a global destination and we will be located in the up and coming downtown area.”

Elements from other Cipriani locations have also been incorporated into the design, including the positioning of the bar, which mirrors the layout of Harry’s Bar in Venice and is the focal point of the restaurant. Meanwhile the dining room is finished with striped Venetian flooring, Walnut wood alongside polished steel, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The restaurant is spread over 8,000 square foot space and includes two levels, plus outdoor waterfront seating for over 400 guests.

Cipriani’s most famous location is Harry’s Bar in Venice, which opened in 1931 and has attracted some of the world’s most iconic figures over the years, including Queen Elizabeth II, Ernest Hemingway, Elizabeth Taylor, Orson Welles and Humphrey Bogart.
