Colombia Hotel Room is Suspended Off a Mountain

By Paul Joseph

There are rooms with a view and then there’s a room at the Refugio La Roca Hotel in the Colombian Andes which boasts a balcony that sits suspended off the edge of a mountain.

Called the Ritakuwa room, the room’s netted balcony sits nestled in the clouds surrounded by magnificent Colombian mountains, allowing guests to relax, read, and take in the surroundings

The focus of the room is on minimalism and encouraging guests to feel at one with nature, meaning no televisions or other mod-cons.

There are, however, king beds, glass walls to maximise viewing opportunities, and a modern private bathroom

Elsewhere in the hotel, there’s a charming restaurant as well as plenty of comfortable fittings and furnishings in the communal areas to ensure guest can concentrate on the sensory aspects of the hotel.

Pricing for a night in the Ritakuwa room, with its sensational 360-degree views, is $107 per night, including breakfast.

Refugio La Roca Hotel is tucked away in the middle of rocks, perched on the edge of Mesa de Los Santos, in the north-central department of Santander in the Colombian Andes.
