Deliveroo Helicopter Launches over London

By Paul Joseph

Until now, gourmet dining in the sky has been the preserve of business class and private jet passengers, but now that has changed thanks to online food delivery company Deliveroo.

The London-based tech firm has taken fine food to new heights by launching a one-of-a-kind helicopter restaurant over the city of London.

Dubbed Roocopter One, and said to be the world’s first helicopter restaurant, the concept is the brainchild of private jet and helicopter charter company Charter-A.

Those who book a table in the mid-air eatery will be able to bring along up to five guests for what promises to be the most memorable meal of their lives.

Food orders will be taken and sourced from local restaurants at the Battersea helipad, where guests will also be required to sit through a quick safety demonstration.

Once complete, you’ll board the helicopter before being whisked over some of London’s most iconic landmarks while enjoying your gastronomic delights.

To gauge the level of interest in the idea, Deliveroo ran a trial helicopter dining experience on 9 August.

Deliveroo was founded in London in 2013 by Will Shu and Greg Orlowski.
