Developers Break Ground at Stella Maris Village on Long Island, The Bahamas

British owned developers Stella Maris Village Limited have announced that they have broken ground on the first of their new luxury homes on Long Island in The Bahamas.

Stella Maris Village is located in the north of Long Island, which boasts its own international airport and marina. This first build, a $3 million property spread over 7,500 sq. ft. with views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean, will initially be used as a show home, before being occupied by one of their long-standing repeat clients.

The ground breaking marks the first phase of the new development which will eventually help in facilitating the new proposed, fully permitted, Port St George development, a five-star luxury community on the southern boundary of Stella Maris Village.

Consistent with the general upturn in the global economy, Stella Maris Village Limited claim to have received over 200 enquiries since the turn of the year for both land and property.

Much of this interest has come from Dubai, prompting a Stella Maris Village director to visit the Arab state to assist prospective investors with their enquiries in person and to appoint a local agent.

A key component being offered to buyers are “Eco-packs” – an enhanced specification enabling owners to bring their new home close to energy self-sufficiency.

Mr. Richard Keyworth, Director of International Sales and Marketing for Stella Maris Village, said: “In a stunning, ecologically sensitive location such as this, it is incumbent upon us to provide new homes which are sympathetic to the surroundings and to the needs of an environmentally aware, yet economically astute property investor.

“New materials and construction methods facilitate this. Stella Maris is already held in high esteem internationally and we hope to enhance its reputation even further. Exciting investment and lifestyle opportunities exist here.”

Once complete, Stella Maris Village will feature a wide range of land plots and off-plan homes, including 2, 3 and 4 Bedroom "Classic" or "Contemporary" designs. Homes are available from $489,000 including the Eco-pack.

Long Island is considered by many the most scenic of The Bahamas’ 700 islands and was once described by Christopher Columbus as “the most enchanting island in the world”.
