A mega theme park comprising six individual entertainment parks is to open in Dubai this October, at a cost of an eye-popping $2.8 billion.

Billed as depicting the best of east and west, the giant Dubai Park & Resorts development will include Bollywood Parks Dubai, which will be structured around a replica of the Taj Mahal and will offer five zones inspired by five blockbuster Bollywood movies.

Motiongate Dubai will offer a journey into the world of Hollywood movies, featuring 27 rides and attractions, while Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park will be a haven for children with themed rides and water attractions.

Food takes centre stage at Riverland Dubai, a park for everything to do with dining, while Lapita Hotel will be a Polynesian-themed family resort.

The development is part of the Dubai government’s plans to attract even more people to the city through increasing its tourism offerings.

Home to one of the largest airports in the world, Dubai Airport currently holds the record for the highest number of international travellers arriving, departing and passing through its gates.
