Ferrari F12berlinetta To Launch at Geneva Motor Show

The first in a new generation of V12 Ferrari sports cars – billed as the most powerful and high-performance Ferrari road car ever launched – is to debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week.

Ushering in a fresh generation of Ferrari 12-cylinder cars, the F12berlinetta was unveiled online last week prior to its official launch at the motor show in Geneva, Switzerland, which kicks off on Thursday.

Finished in a new Rosso Berlinetta three-layer colour, the F12berlinetta boasts a highly advanced engine – in terms of its mechanical, combustion and fluid-dynamics efficiency – allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.1.

Ferrari says that the car’s engine, together with ultra-proficient vehicle architecture, aerodynamics, components and electronic controls, “guarantees unsurpassed driving involvement whatever the road or track”.

The car’s new layout has been designed to match its more extreme performance, including a shortened wheelbase, and a lowering of the engine, dashboard and seats in the chassis.

Meanwhile amendments to the rear suspension and gearbox enabled Ferrari’s engineers to make the rear volume of the car smaller, helping to create a lower centre of gravity that is further back in the chassis, and enhanced levels of aerodynamic efficiency.

The 12berlinetta is the result of a collaboration between the Ferrari Styling Centre and Italian car design firm Pininfarina.

The Geneva Motor Show runs from 8th – 18th March.
