Ferrari Launch “Sergio” Tribute Car

By Paul Joseph

Ferrari have unveiled a stunning new model in tribute to the late Italian car designer Sergio Pininfarina

Billed as a modified version of the Ferrari 458 Spider, the “Sergio” is heavily inspired by Pininfarina’s styling in the late 60s and 70s.

The special edition car boasts a 605-horsepower, 4.5-litre V8 engine, enabling it to reach 60mph in well below three seconds.

The interior is resplendent with sports black leather upholstery, complimented with red stitching, while the door trim and dashboard are topped with carbon.

Only six Ferrari Sergios will be delivered, with each configured to meet the specifications of their owners. The first car has already been delivered to the United Arab Emirates’ capital of Abu Dhabi.

In 1965 Sergio Pininfarina personally persuaded Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari to adopt a "mid-engined" engine configuration for a new line of road cars, with the engine positioned behind the driver, but ahead of the rear wheels.
