FIFA World Cup 2010 Classic Fusion Watch from Hublot

By B. Roberts

After confirming a place as the official watchmaker of the FIFA World Cup in April, Hublot are now due to release the limited edition FIFA World Cup Classic Fusion watch as the South Africa World Cup 2010 draws nearer.

Jean-Claude Biver has taken a proud step to enhance the Hublot brand by partnering with the FIFA World Cup 2010, having already partnered with Formula 1 earlier this year. Hublot watches embody the very spirit of the sport or event with which they partner, with the FIFA World Cup Classic Fusion watch proving no exception.

The gold on gold limited edition watch is not the first design in the partnership, however the watch is a truly classic example of luxurious and impressive timepieces. The 18k gold casing is 45mm wide with a tag stating “Gold 750” on the brushed dial to mark the purity of the gold alloy.

The FIFA World Cup Classic Fusion will be limited to 100 pieces, sporting polished gold hour indicators that sit around the edge whilst solid gold hands tick around the dial. The watch also features titanium screws and a black alligator strap. The outside is as perfectly built as the inside, utilising a base Swiss ETA automatic movement, which is visible through a caseback window.

An image of the World Cup Trophy is placed at the bottom of the dial to finish off the composition of a simple, but classically beautiful watch.
