FLIBS 2017 Prepares to Showcase the Luxury Yachting Lifestyle

By Paul Joseph

The 58th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicks off on Wednesday, bringing together brokers and suppliers to showcase the very best that the yachting industry and its associated lifestyle has to offer.

The largest in-water boat show in the world, the event attracts industry professionals and yachting enthusiasts from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia and every corner of the US, generating nearly a billion dollars over the five days it is held.

Visitors have access to an estimated $4 billion worth of products and inventory, and as well as the boats on display, exhibits include luxury cars, personal submarines and a huge selection of the latest water toys and accessories.

Among the brands displaying high-end goods at the show will include submersible manufacturers Triton Submarines, local Miami jewellery house Carrazz Jewelers, and exclusive online art gallery One Kind Art.

Themed areas will include the Performance Village, the Sportfish Village, CruiserPort, the Superyacht Experience, the Yachting Pavilion and the Yacht Builders Pavilion. Among the other attractions will be floating cocktail barges, live music and fishing and boating seminars for adults and children.

Furthermore, as is fitting for an industry that takes personalised service to the highest level, guests can enhance their FLIBS experience at the Windward VIP Club. Located at the Hall of Fame Marina adjacent to many of the show’s largest yachts and a lavish display of luxury cars, this exclusive private club offers mouth-watering food and drinks with air-conditioning and comfortable seating.

At the club, guests can also benefit from a dedicated concierge team, Delmay and Partners, who are available to arrange yacht tours, dining reservations and private transportation.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is spread over seven locations connected by land and water transportation, with headquarters at the Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale and further exhibits at the Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Sails Marina, Pier 66 Marina, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center.

FLIBS will run from 5 – 9 November.
