Formula 1 Opus ‘Bernie’ Edition Priced at $1 Million

By Paul Joseph

A special edition of a lavish, giant-sized art book containing an illustrated history of Formula One was launched at the Luxury Expo in Doha late last year.

Named after British business magnate Bernie Ecclestone, CEO and President of Formula One Management, the Formula 1 Opus Bernie boasts 852 pages and weighs a whopping 37kg. The edition will be strictly limited to just one unit only.

The book takes readers on a journey through the annals of F1 racing, through photography and newly commissioned essays. It also features rare and unseen photos from Ecclestone’s personal collection.

The cover of the book features a silver cover plate bearing the signatures of Ecclestone and the 22 living F1 drivers’ champions.

In addition to receiving the one-off book, the buyer will receive Paddock Club access to every race on the 2014 F1 calendar plus a chance to meet with Ecclestone at every race.

The ‘Bernie Edition’ comes with a price tag of $1 million (£610,000).
