Austrian Jewellery maker Frey Wille has opened its first store in New York City.

Located on the fashionable Madison Avenue, the new store will stock items from across the jeweller’s ranges, as well as luxury accessories including silk scarves, belts and handbags.

The extensive 900-square-foot space, situated between East 63rd and East 64th streets, is being sublet from handbag design company Furla.

“With our new boutique in one of the hot spots of New York, not only a personal wish of mine comes true, but also the wish of our US clients,” said Dr. Friedrich Wille, Frey Wille CEO.

Founded in Vienna in 1951 by Michaela Frey, the fine enamel jeweller has attracted jewellery fans and art enthusiasts from across the world. One of its most famous ranges is the Artist’s Collections, inspired by illustrious painters such as Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Frey Wille already has over 70 stores worldwide. Last year the company marked its 60th anniversary with the launch of a new boutique in London, and it plans to open up a number of other stores throughout 2011, including in Moscow, Brussels and Prague.
