Galactic Suite Space Resort: an unworldly holiday first

By Superyachts.com

If you’ve ever imagined a holiday in space, 2012 could see you taking a dream vacation with Galactic Suite Limited planning to open the world’s first space resort within three years.

Included in the out-of-world- experience is a training process at the spaceport, transfer aboard a spaceship, and of course the stay at the Space Resort which will cost €3 million for three nights.

A holiday in orbit will require guests to first complete several weeks' astronaut training before they are launched into space aboard Galactic Suite’s space ship towards the Space Resort.

The bio-inspired Space Resort has been designed to act as a modular space habitat with a central enclosed area from which modules are connected to a spaceship docking port.

Onboard guests will orbit Earth at 30,000 kilometres per hour on average, meaning they will circle the world in just 90 minutes, 15 times a day.

The spaceport will be located on a tropical island and besides acting as the base for astronaut training, will service the company’s spaceships and monitor the resort.

The project is currently being designed in Europe and reservations are now being taken for aspiring guests.
