Gold-plated Wii given to the Queen

It's hard enough to get a present for the man who has everything, but when it's for the Queen of England it's bound to be even more difficult. Software developer THQ struck gold when they presented her majesty with a Wii console coated in the stuff.

The gold-plated Wii was created and given to the Queen and Royal family in a promotional stunt by entertainment software developer THQ for their upcoming release of the new game BIG Family Games.

BIG Family Games is a collection of 24 classic family games, each with their own unique Wii twist. Gamers will enjoy playing, among many others, golf, tennis, ladder golf, lawn darts, horseshoes and bocce, which is the Italian version of boules.

Danielle Robinson of THQ had the following to say about the stunning gift:

"BIG Family Games is the ultimate Wii game to get all family members, from grandparents to young children, playing together. The Royal Family is arguably the most important family in the country so we felt that they had to have a copy of the new game."
