Gresso Launch Ultra-Light "Cruiser Air" Handset

By Paul Joseph

Luxury mobile phone makers Gresso have created a new handset made from the same ultra-light material used to build airliners.

Limited to just 555 pieces, the Cruiser Air Black handset combines high strength with extreme lightness thanks to composite materials including high-resistant aluminium alloy.

Boasting hand-polished matt steel keys, the phone - which weighs just 106 grams - also features a coal-black glossy front and back glass panels, and comes in a velvet black rectangular case.

Each of the 555 phones are individually numbered with an engraving on the right side of the case.

The limited edition collection will be available from August 2012, with an unconfirmed price of $1,700.

Gresso was founded in Miami in 1999. In 2010, the company opened a design office in the US specialising in the manufacturing of luxury leather and Swarovski Crystal cases for smart phones.
