Hand-engraved Weed-Themed Rolex Sells for £30k
An innovative jewellery artisan has created what is being billed as the world’s first ever weed-themed Rolex.
Called the Oyster Perpetual Milgauss Cannabis Edition, the custom handmade one-of-a-kind watch is the brainchild of Buddy Austin of bespoke jewellery company Third Eye Assembly.
The watch took more than 150 hours of painstaking work under the knife with each leaf meticulously hand-engraved to perfection.
It features a “Fin Des Temps” watch face along with a praying mantis graphic clasp and “Reefer Madness” rear casing. In addition to that, the green, yellow and orange components placed on the face add an appealing touch.
However, before you get your hopes up, the one-off creation has already been privately sold for $30,000.
Founded by Hans Wildorf and Alfred Davis in London in 1905 as Wilsdorf and Davis, Rolex moved its base of operations to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919.
Today the brand is the world’s largest and most prolific single luxury watchmaker, producing about 2,000 watches per day.
