Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has opened its first UK airport boutique at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5.

Spread across 1,076 square feet, the new store houses a range of accessories for men and women including bags, shoes, leather goods and sunglasses.

It features a curved façade and two lateral windows to reveal the interiors, and is decorated with several signature Dolce & Gabbana’s furnishings, including basalt flooring, black carpets and a baroque chandelier.

According to Heathrow operator BAA, the opening of the store is part of the airport’s efforts to deliver an “exciting and engaging” shopping experience to passengers. Opened in 2008, Heathrow T5 already boasts a number of luxury brands including Burberry, Hermès, Jimmy Choo, Cartier, Chanel, Tiffany’s, Dunhill and Bulgari.

Heathrow retail concessions director Muriel Zingraff said: “We are really pleased to be able to announce the opening of the Dolce & Gabbana store at T5.

“Heathrow has built an extensive portfolio of luxury brands, making the airport a shopping destination in its own right. Dolce & Gabbana is the perfect addition to Heathrow's luxury offering.”

Dolce & Gabbana was founded in 1985 by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
