Hennessey Venom GT Spyder To Launch in 2012
Hennessey Performance is to officially launch its new Venom GT Spyder model with a removable roof next year, the American car maker has announced.
Priced at $1.1 million, the Spyder is a convertible version of the Venom GT Coupe, delivering 1.200 horsepower (895 kW) from its twin-turbo V8 engine.
“We are excited to be able to offer an open air American supercar, built in Texas, that provides the best power to weight ratio available on the market," said the company’s founder, John Hennessey.
“Simply put, the Venom GT Spyder is defined by its simplicity, elegance, performance and – for a lucky few – a driving experience like nothing else on Earth."
Hennessey CEO, Don Goldman, added: “With the hardtop in place, the Venom GT offers a very visceral, raw, driving experience.
“With the hardtop removed, the wind and the growl of the twin turbo V8will offer our clients an even greater driving sensation.”
The Hennessey Venom GT Spyder will be delivered to customers starting from mid-2012. Hennessey says that only five Coupe or Spyder vehicles will be produced as a 2013 model year.
