Home-Swap Website Launches Social Circle

By P. Joseph

Luxe Home Swap, a home exchange website for stylish properties, has joined the social network revolution by allowing users to search for homes owned by people they know.

The new Social Circle function allows anyone visiting the site to connect with Facebook to see homes listed from within their social circle.

Debbie Wosskow, Founder of Luxe Home Swap, said: “We listened to our members who said that they often found that there were only six degrees of separation between them and the people that they were swapping with.

“So they said wouldn’t it be fun if they could find an easier way to exchange with people from their wider network.”

Luxe Home Swap is billed as an alternative to the traditional home-swap services which are often associated with budget travel.

The website works by charging an annual membership fee of $159, which allows users to list their home, contact any other members worldwide and exchange properties as many times as they like.

Wosskow believes that the Social Circle feature will suit the lifestyle of many of the website’s users.

“We have a very global audience, who travel a lot, are super-well connected and very comfortable with using Facebook and similar sites as a way of managing their social circles,” she added.

Speaking to Superyachts.com, Managing Director of Luxe Home Swap, Ben Wosskow, said: “We really think this is going to transform the home exchange for vacations experience as a whole, allowing you at the touch of a button to swap with people you know and people they know, as well as all the other fantastic homes we have listed around the world."

Launched in January 2010 Luxe Home Swap currently lists properties in locations across the world, including London, Paris, Los Angeles and Sydney.
