Hublot bring 2016 to a Close with a Big Bang

By Paul Joseph

World renowned Swiss watchmakers Hublot have further strengthened their relationship with Italian car brand Ferrari by creating three new editions of their Big Bang timepieces.

Unveiled at Mueso Enzo Ferrari in Modena, Italy, the new editions offer several nods to the hallmark aesthetics of both brands. The series comes is three varieties - titanium, King gold and carbon fibre.

The Big Bang Ferrari Titanium is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces and comes with a re-defined dial design with a new sub dial minute counter and date window at 3 o’clock, mimicking Ferrari’s famed tachometer.

The Big Bang Ferrari King Gold, meanwhile, is perhaps the most striking piece of the series, limited to 500 watches and featuring a distinctly technical look.  It comes fitted with a strap made from Alcantara, rubber and red stitching, much like the interiors of a Ferrari car.

Lastly, the Big Bang Ferrari Carbon features red hues on the hands, numerals and hour markers. The carbon fibre used in the watch can be further customised by owners as per their liking.

At the base of each of these three watches is Hublot’s Unico Flyback chronograph movement which is fitted with a pallet fork and escapement wheel crafted from Silicon.

Other notable Ferrari design elements of the watches include a double clutch, column wheel and oscillating weight.

Hublot released the first Big Bang Ferrari watches in 2012.
