Hublot Create MP-05 “LaFerrari” Timepiece

The relationship between luxury watch and car brands is long-standing, but few partnerships can have proved as symbiotic as that between Hublot and Ferrari.

To celebrate the launch of the “LeFerrari” supercar, the Swiss watchmaker has created an eponymous, limited edition timepiece inspired by the appearance of a Ferrari engine.

The MP-05 “LaFerrari” timepiece features spring barrels lined up in the middle of the watch, giving its visible movement the look of an engine block. The complex sapphire crystal, meanwhile, provides a nod to the shape of the LaFerrari supercar.

In addition to its unique shape and appearance, the LeFerrari timepiece is also said to boast the world’s longest power reserve for a tourbillon: 40 days, or approximately 960 hours.

Other Ferrari-themed elements include a Ferrari logo etched into the watch’s black PVD-coated titanium case, and two red-coloured bars supporting the movement.

The Hublot MP-05 “LaFerrari” Timepiece will be showcased at the 2013 Baselworld watch fair, which kicks off in Switzerland today.

Limited to just 50 pieces, it will be available at Hublot boutiques and retailers priced at approximately €243,339 (£205,847).

Hublot is the official timekeeper for both Ferrari and its racing division Scuderia.
