Hublot Launch World Cup-inspired Big Bang Timepiece

By Paul Joseph

Swiss watch makers Hublot have created a new addition to its ultra-popular Big Bang range of timepieces called the Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono.

To mark Hublot’s role as official timekeeper of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the limited edition watch also comes with a bi-retrograde movement with central chronograph for “soccer timing”. The seconds and minute’s hand, green and yellow respectively, sweep from the 10 to 2 o’clock position and upon reaching 60, both hands jump back to 0 instantly.

Additional nods to the prestigious tournament appear in the colours on the watch’s dial which have been designed to align with the national colours of Brazil, whilst the watch also comes with a Brazil soccer jersey signed by Pele.

Available in two versions - an 18-karat King Gold or a black ceramic version – the watch also features a carbon fibre bezel and comes in a 45.5mm case.

The watch is available in a limited edition of 100 pieces for the King Gold and 200 for the black ceramic version.

Hublot was founded in 1980 by Maksim Kuts.
