Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot has created a limited edition women’s timepiece to raise money for amfAR, a foundation dedicated to the support of AIDS Research.

Limited to just 100 pieces, the amfAR New York Gala will be unveiled at a black tie event at Cipriani Wall Street in New York tomorrow night, hosted by actress Sarah Jessica Parker.

Featuring a black ceramic case, a white mother of pearl dial, and a white gold bezel set with 48 baguette diamonds, the watch is also decorated with amfAR’s colours and logo at the 5 o’clock mark.

Other notable features include a self-winding chronograph movement, a white alligator strap sewn on black rubber, and water resistance up to 100 metres.

The creation of the new timepiece marks the second time Hublot have teamed up with amfAR, having previously launched a men’s collection of watches in support of the foundation.

Hublot chairman Jean-Claude Biver said: “We are excited to once again join forces with amfAR in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

“Our first amfAR men’s collection was very well received and we hope that these new women’s designs will bring us one step further in accomplishing the goal of a world without HIV/AIDS.”

Tomorrow night’s event will also feature an auction of the first timepiece in the limited edition range, which is engraved with the signature of amfAR Founding Chairman Dr. Mathilde Krim.
