Introducing America’s Most Expensive Home

By Paul Joseph

A property in the upscale neighbourhood of Bel-Air on the Westside of Los Angeles has arrived on the market for $225 million, a price tag that would make it America’s most expensive home.

Called ‘Casa Encantada’, the 40,000 square foot mansion is spread across 8 acres of land and contains 60 rooms – each offering a city, ocean or garden view.

The residence was built in the 1930s and was later purchased by hotelier Conrad Hilton for just $225,000 in 1950. Since then, the home has undergone several renovations and is considered one of the most luxurious properties in the US today.

Notable features and amenities include a pool house with a professional screening room and formal bar, a lighted tennis court, a basketball court, a full guest house, multiple greenhouses and Koi ponds.

Furthermore its entry hall offers a dazzling first impression with 18-foot ceilings that lead to a luxurious reception hall, dining room and living spaces.

Previously, the record for the most expensive home in the United States was held by a French chateau-style mansion called ‘The Manor’ in Los Angeles and another Bel-Air property featuring a helicopter and its own car collection.
