Swiss luxury watch brand IWC Schaffhausen yesterday celebrated the opening of its first US flagship boutique in New York City.

The opening was marked by a glamorous event attended by several high-profile celebrities including actor Matthew Fox and model Adriana Lima

Spread across more than 3,000 square foot, the two-floor boutique is located on New York’s prestigious Madison Avenue and presents IWC’s exclusive collection of timepieces.

The event also saw the launch of IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch Edition Muhammad Ali – designed in honour of the legendary boxer and limited to just 250 pieces. Guests at the party were able to view the timepiece, as well as a presentation of the work of famed photographer Howard Bingham, a lifetime friend of Muhammad Ali.

Last month a one-off IWC timepiece created in honour of the former heavyweight Boxing champion sold for $60,000 at a charity auction in Phoenix, Arizona.

IWC Schaffhausen was founded by Florentine Ariosto Jones in 1868.
