J Craft Torpedo luxury yacht tender launched
Exclusive Swedish boat builder J Craft has launched its latest first-class tender, unveiling the new Torpedo with a star-studded champagne reception in Monaco.
Each Torpedo is uniquely constructed by J Craft and is available in an extensive range of colour schemes. No two are ever the same but general specifications see accommodations for four guests and one crew member.
Embracing the Swedish craftsmanship of hand-shaped hulls and rock-solid construction, the J Craft Torpedo features an environmentally-friendly mahogany deck lacquered 18 times.
The luxury yacht tender is powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 500 engines and transmission system which allows manoeuvring via joystick through 360 degrees.
Amongst the features of the Torpedo are Prince Carl Philip-designed silver wear and a hand-carved Nardi steering wheel, the type of which is also found in the classic Ferrari 250 GTO.
J Craft was founded in 1998 by Björn Jansson and began its life with the construction of the Cabrio Cruiser. First released in 2000, it was delivered to the King of Sweden and only seven were produced in the following nine years. Although the Cruiser is no longer being produced it sometimes appears for rare pre-owned sale.
