Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveil Eye-Catching New Watches at SIHH 2015

By Paul Joseph

At the prestigious 2015 SIHH watch fair in Geneva late last month, Swiss horology experts Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a striking new addition to its popular ‘Rendez-Vous’ collection dwds

The Rendez-Vous Moon delivers a new spin on the traditional model, equipped with moon phases, a traditional watchmaking complication.

Indeed, the majority of the white gold dial is now occupied by the mesmerizing mother-of-pearl moon phase display, while cabochons represent the sky full of stars.

Available in 36 or 39mm diameters, both versions feature a bezel set with diamonds, as well as a blue satin strap.

In the dial of the 39mm version, the sky of the Rendez-Vous Moon is adorned with this delicate engraving technique performed using a dedicated rose engine that requires a steady hand to create beautifully intersecting motifs.

The resulting pattern is coated with a blue lacquer that induces a unique depth effect, drawing the gaze into the nocturnal expanses of the dial framed by a seductive row of diamonds.

Jaeger-LeCoultre also used SIHH to unveil a new edition of the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon for men.

Founded in 1937, Jaeger-LeCoultre has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned makers of luxury watches.
