Japanese Company Creates Solid Gold Speakers

By Paul Joseph

A Japanese company called Anodic Supply has teamed up with a renowned sound engineer to create a set of solid gold speakers decorated with 40 karats of flawless diamonds.

Hand-made in Japan and designed in collaboration with Michio Sakamoto, a former Sony director, the River’sTone speakers use over half a quintal of pure gold which, its creators claim, helps to deliver an extremely high quality sound.

According to the River’sTone website the “solid gold bodies achieve the lowest ‘longitudinal elastic modulus/density’ resulting in incredible clarity and a transparently pure audio signal.”

The two speakers and one amp have been designed to be extremely neat with no joints, gaps or screws visible from the front or sides.

The speakers are available in gold and silver plated forms as well as solid sterling silver and solid gold forms. They also feature custom designed grills encrusted with diamonds or zirconia and are optional.

Pricing for the solid gold RiverTone speakers has yet to be confirmed, but is expected to be in the region of over £4.5 million.
