Jeffrey Rüdes Flagship Store to Open in Manhattan

Fashion designer Jeffrey Rüdes is set to open a flagship store in his birthplace of New York this month, marking his first retail outlet in the US.

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo district and spread over 3,200 square feet, the store will showcase the respected designer’s new concept of luxury menswear.

Billed as modern and sophisticated, the store is the brainchild of Rudes and interior designer Steed Hale, who worked with architect Michael Fahey of Fahey Design Build and Shimstone Design Studio for lighting.

The SoHo location occupies the ground and lower level of a beautifully renovated and restored red brick and iron-columned façade in a turn of the century historic building on a cobblestone street.

At the rear of the ground floor, a “living” area features a sectional sofa, coffee tables and a Makassar bookcase, while a chrome staircase with a 30-foot backlit bookcase leads to the lower level, offering another lounge area, VIP room, and the stockroom.

Speaking about the opening, Mr Rüdes said: “I wanted to create a modern space that enhanced the aesthetic of the clothes. The store is the backdrop for the clothes themselves, offering the highest standards in quality and construction in menswear, and defining the essential pieces needed in every modern manʼs wardrobe.”

Mr Rüdes first came to prominence when he launched denim specialists J Brand in 2004.
