Jet Capsule: A Speedy Car for the Seas

By Paul Joseph

Italian company Lazzarini Design has created an innovative ocean-faring car called the Jet Capsule.

Built at the Fiart Mare shipyard in Naples, Italy, the vehicle boasts a range of high-tech features, including interior LED mood lighting, photochromic windows, a sundeck on its rooftop, air conditioning and heater systems, as well as a fully-functional toilet.

Billed as “a new way to conceive the water mobility of the future”, the vessel is powered using a similar propulsion system to a jet ski and measures 24 feet in length.

It includes a single or dual engine configuration and an electric auxiliary engine to enhance its eco-friendly credentials, and boasts an average cruising speed of 25 to 38 knots

The Jet Capsule also features as standard a carbon fibre shell and can be customized according to each client’s specifications, seating up to 13 people.

Various configurations are available to choose from, including a taxi layout fitting nine passengers, or a living capsule, outfitted with a kitchen, bathroom, and two convertible sofas.

Pricing for the Jet Capsule starts at $250,000.
