Joali: The Maldives’ First Immersive Art Resort

Nestled on the castaway island of Muravandhoo, just 45 minutes by seaplane from Male, as well as an array of lavish amenities Joali also lays claim to being the Maldives first ever immersive art resort.

An array of original, experiential works of art and dynamic design pieces are dotted around the resort, all curated to "reflect the beauty of nature", and with sustainability at their core.

Adorning villas and communal areas are an assortment of eye-catching works by 13 international artists. From sculptures to design and experiential pieces, each piece is thoughtfully integrated into its natural surroundings.

Among the most eye-catching pieces is a collection of hanging 'Heron' chairs which overlook the beach, organic-shaped light shades made from coiled rope and stitched using industrial sewing machines located in the resort’s on-site boutique, and ceramic mini stools inspired by shapes of the tabletop Tepuis mountains of Venezuela

Joali will continue to curate interactive art experiences, with new pieces to be added throughout the year. An annual art calendar will also host a roster of workshops and residencies with visiting artists.
