JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa to Open in 2015
Luxury hotel chain JW Marriott is to open a lavish new resort and spa in Venice – its first ever property in Italy – on its own private island.
Nestled within a picturesque lagoon on Isola delle Rose (Italian for ‘Rose Island’), the 266-room JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa offers views of iconic Venice landmarks including St Mark’s Square and La Serenissima.
Designed by Italian architects Matteo Thun & Partners, the island has been entirely renovated with historic buildings and parklands transformed into a contemporary resort spread across 16 acres.
Amenities will include five restaurants and bars, a cooking school, a wine academy, and a 1,750-metre state-of-the-art spa featuring an indoor and outdoor aqua-tonic pool, a health club, eight treatment rooms, hammam and luxury spa suite.
The property’s outdoor areas will boast numerous landscaped gardens, fruit arbors and olive groves.
JW Marriott is planning further openings in 2015, including in Cabo San Lucas and Austin, Texas.
