The second project to be undertaken by Qatar-based Alfardan Hospitality in collaboration with Kempinski, the new hotel – called Marsa Malaz Kempinski – will be spread over 500,000 square feet and will blend “Arabian hospitality with a Venetian concept”.
Surrounded by water, the hotel will boast a beachfront setting, extravagant interiors and exteriors, and a range of ultra-luxurious personalised services.
The opening will be in line with the recently announced strategy of Qatar Tourism Authority to position Qatar as “a world-class hub with deep cultural roots”.
Omar Alfardan, President and CEO, Alfardan Group, said: “Marsa Malaz Kempinski - The Pearl, Doha will set itself as an iconic waterfront destination reflecting the true splendour of Doha, enhancing the international reputation of Qatar as a fast-emerging luxury tourist destination.
“We are proud of this accomplishment, to develop a world-class luxurious destination, coinciding with QTA’s Strategy and to be in line with the long-term economic development strategy of the government to enhance tourism, thereby attracting more and more visitors to the country from various corners of the globe.”
Alfardan Hospitality had previously worked alongside Kempinski to developm and manage Doha’s tallest hotel tower, the Kempinski Residences and Suites.
Founded in Berlin, Germany in 1897, Kempinski is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group.
