Koenigsegg Agera RS Set to Hit American Streets

By Paul Joseph

Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg is to launch its Agera RS model onto the American market – marking the first time the company has had a presence in the United States.

There will be just 25 units made for American streets, 10 of which have already been pre-purchased according to Koenigsegg

A fusion of the brand’s Agera R and S models and the Koenigsegg One: 1, the version designed for the American market measures 4,293 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,662 mm.

It is lighter in weight than the models that inspired it and has a body made of carbon-fibre/Kevlar, as well as carbon fibre wheels.

On the inside, it features a twin-turbo 5-liter pertrol V8 engine from the Agera S that gives it 1,160 hp at 7,800 rpm and a torque of 1,280 Nm. It offers a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.

Koenigsegg was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg, with the intention of producing a world-class supercar. Many years of development and prototyping led to the company's first street-legal production car delivery in 2002.
