By superyachts.com

Only days ahead of its rumoured official launch at the prestigious Frankfurt Motor Show, pictures of the brand new Lamborghini Reventón Roadster have been leaked much to the delight of car enthusiasts and luxury-lovers alike.

The original Reventón, launched at Frankfurt in 2007 was created to be a “stealth fighter for the road” and the Roadster is no different; it boasts jet-inspired carbon fibre body panels, 18-inch wheels, and an interior of alcantara upholstery and carbon fibre trim.

With a rumoured mid-mounted 650hp V12 engine, it will come as no surprise the luxury vehicle is estimated to hit a top speed well in excess of 320 kilometres an hour.

Although more details are expected to be released following Frankfurt, production of the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster is expected to be restricted to approximately 20 units, each with a starting price of €1.2 million.

The Reventón Roadster will be competing for the limelight at Frankfurt with scene-stealing supercars such as the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, Ferrari 458 Italia, and the McLaren MP4-12C.

The annual Frankfurt Motor Show begins on September 15 with tow days of previews before kicking into gear from the 17th to the 27th.
