London EDITION Hotel Opens its Doors

By Paul Joseph

The London EDITION, the latest hotel project of American entrepreneur, hotelier and real estate developer Ian Schrager, has opened its doors to the public.

Returning to London for the first time in 15 years, since he introduced Sanderson and St. Martins Lane, the residence is the latest offering from EDITION Hotels, the brand Ian conceived in a partnership with Marriott International.

Set in the former Berners hotel in a row of five Georgian townhouses in Fitzrovia, the hotel’s design boasts a mix of inspirations including London gentlemen's clubs, secret Parisian hideaways and New York's Grand Central Station.

EDITION Hotels is billed as combining the personal, intimate, individualised and unique hotel experience that Schrager is known for, with the global reach, operational expertise and scale of the international Marriott brand.

Originally gaining fame as co-owner and co-founder of the Studio 54 nightclub in New York, Ian Schrager is often associated with co-creating the Boutique Hotel category of accommodation alongside childhood friend and business partner Steve Rubell.
