Louboutin Creates Anniversary Reverso Watch for Jaeger-LeCoultre

By Paul Joseph

Swiss watchmakers Jaeger-LeCoultre have teamed up with luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin to create a range of special edition Reverso timepieces.

The brands collaborated to mark the 85th anniversary of the enduringly popular watch line, which features a distinctive art deco aesthetic.

The special edition Reverso is inspired by the designer’s travels, with bright, vibrant colours showcasing the intersection of different worlds, from the covered galleries of Paris to the carved wood lattice work of North Africa and oriental stones.

For certain models, Louboutin has also drawn his inspiration from his own shoe collections, building on his belief that a watch is inseparable from its strap, as these two elements form a whole.

Available in two sizes, the Reverso Classic Duetto features simple and unfussy classical Art Deco lines on the front, while the back has two rows of diamonds on either side of the dial.

Its name inspired by the Latin “I turn around”, the Reverso was created in 1931 as a watch capable of surviving the hard knocks of a polo game.

Founded in 1937, Jaeger-LeCoultre has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned makers of luxury watches.
