Louis Vuitton Launches America’s Cup Collection

By Paul Joseph

The countdown to the 35th America’s Cup, which takes place in Bermuda this June, is on, and to mark the occasion iconic French fashion house Louis Vuitton have launched a sparkling new collection inspired by the historical sailing competition.

A long-time sponsor of the event, the famous brand has created a collection billed as offering racing and fashion fans alike an opportunity to look like they’re part of the high-octane action.

Every piece in the line evokes the spirit of racing, with red, white and blue – the colours of the cup – incorporated with style and panache.

Inspired by life on the high seas, the yachting set will love the stylish, top-of-the-line sunglasses and the perfectly tailored marine blazer — perfect for an alfresco evening event — or any of the sport bags, which range from backpacks to Keepalls, ideal for packing up and sailing off into the sunset.

The races kick off in Bermuda on May 26 with qualifiers. Cup defender Oracle Team USA begins its match with the Challenger on June 17.

Founded in 1851 off of the shores of Britain, the America’s Cup trophy - known as the ‘Auld Mug’ – was presented to the fastest boat to sail around the Isle of White. The schooner ‘America’ won and from then on the most iconic sailing competition in the world has been known as the America’s Cup.
