Louis XIII Black Pearl AHD Cognac Comes Bottled in Bespoke Baccarat Decanters

By Paul Joseph

In celebrating the 100th birthday of its former chairmen André Hériard Dubreuil, world renowned cognac producers LOUIS XIII have introduced a lavish limited-edition cognac

Called the Black Pearl AHD, the rare blend of LOUIS XIII comes housed in personalised, steel-coloured crystal Baccarat decanters, each individually numbered and limited to just 1498 pieces.

The rich spirit is drawn from a single tierçon hidden in the family reserve, deep inside the André Hériard Dubreuil cellar, making it one of the most revered of its kind.

Its dark and dampened origin renders fresh, floral and intense earthy aromas to the newest Louis XIII with notes of dried roses, honey, myrrh, cigar box, plum, honeysuckle, leather, figs and passion fruit that further complement its flavours.

Created by the makers at the Maison Baccarat, the decanter is inspired by a flask found on the battlefield of Jarnac in 1569.

The hand-blown crystal vessel bears a delicate symmetry of lacework with meticulous detail in its medallions and their minute pearl inlays.

Founded in 1874, LOUIS XIII has grown to become one of the world’s most famous cognac brands.
