Luxury All-Suite Hotel Opens on Shores of Lake Como

By Paul Joseph

Already one of the chicest spots in Europe, now Lake Como in northern Italy has been given an added layer of gloss with the arrival of Villa Làrio, a boutique hotel featuring just nine exclusive suites.

Set in a 19th century property previously owned by the renowned Lombardi family, Villa Làrio is billed as offering the discretion of a private home with the conveniences of a five star hotel.

The hotel boasts classical Italian architecture and comprises nine en-suite double bedrooms within three different locations on the property - Villa Bianca, Pavilion and Garden Suite – all of which can be booked independently or as a whole.

Offering spectacular lake views, Villa Bianca Suites occupy the first and second floors of the main hotel building, adjacent to the horizon pool which spills down in to the estate’s manicured gardens.

The Pavilion, meanwhile, is situated at the heart of the lake and offers stunning lake views right from the comfort of your bed, along with private access, a separate kitchen, living and dining room, private sun bath, a large pavilion and garden and two bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms.

Finally, hidden between the lake and the cliffs is the Garden Suite, featuring one bedroom, one bathroom, a reading room, a private garden, 20m infinity pool and private pontoon. Cooking classes with the resident chef are also available, while spa and golf facilities are within a short distance away.

Prices at Villa Làrio start at €350 per night.
